The emergency contact was not filled out on the Booking… did a four-hour chase to determine it was a CAT C9 engine with a standard CAT starter. Had to move it prior. Lifted with two 15-ton forklifts and backed under to restricted height.
At time of booking, the SAGA information for contact should have been filled out in case of emergency. There is no emergency contact information.
Lesson Learned
It is of outmost importance that POC information (company, person and phone number) for the specific cargo is available in the booking system.
Failure to start or handle a unit can create high-cost issues in POD.
